Pros

Im leaving soon to work for a competitor. People in none sales groups are friendly and collaborative. They have a big name but some buyers didn’t respect the brand of Aon.

Cons

Terrible on-boarding process. No formal training. You are sat at a desk and you start calling. To have sales success at Aon it won’t be based on your talent or skill set. You will have to play the political games internally and be willing to back stab internal colleagues. The hardest thing about selling for this company isn’t acquiring new customers it’s the politics and the lack of leadership to help navigate the internal matrix. If you CAN sell and have a rolodex of contacts stay away from Aon. If you CAN’T sell and have little to no talent but can play the political game you’ll have a better chance at success. Talent and skill set isn’t what wins at Aon. You have to play the political game.

Pros

Good support and good people

Cons

Large company does mean that Tech/HR support usually involves an 800 number and call center.

Pros

Great role to transition into the insurance industry. Many resources and opportunities to expand technical knowledge. Client visits are great if you like to travel. Lucky to have a manager who doesn’t micromanage. If you’re organized, driven, and good at communicating you’ll do great.

Cons

Can be stressful at times around busy renewal cycles. Travel often depending on industry and clients.
