Pros

When David Mausolf and I (Dave Riggs) started Apex Growth, we spent many late nights talking about our vision for the company we wanted to build. One thing we 100% agreed on? Not recreating toxic past work environments. So we used our worst experiences as a roadmap to our core values. 4 non-negotiable values we landed on: 1️⃣ Transparency ❌ I’ve had bosses who refused to explain their decision-making processes. Which meant I didn’t trust them or feel trusted. ✅ Even if it doesn’t directly impact somebody’s job, we try to communicate the company’s strategic direction to everybody. 2️⃣ Vulnerability ❌ I had a macho boss who wouldn’t be accountable for mistakes. ✅ David and I are honest with the team when we mess things up. It happens. It doesn’t always feel great, but sharing the losses *and* the wins creates a safe environment for growth. 3️⃣ Respecting Work/Life Balance ❌ I’ve had bosses who thought I should be available 24/7. David slept under his desk during some late nights at Lyft. Not great for mental health. ✅ We don’t Slack or email people on nights or weekends asking them for urgent things. People shouldn’t feel like they need to resolve something before going to bed or wake up anxious. 4️⃣Positivity A few rules: - Always give feedback in private - Frame that feedback respectfully and supportively - Never yell (if you do that… what is wrong with you? Stop.) Ruling with an iron fist won’t get the best out of your team. Treating people with respect and dignity will. And I can’t believe I’m saying this, but – Thanks to all my former bad bosses. You showed me how to be better.

Cons

I hope we can meet up more in person!

Pros

Where do I even begin?? Dave and David have created something truly special at Apex. You can tell they genuinely care about every single person on the team (which is sadly rare these days). David brings 15+ years of big-name corporate experience from places like Disney and Expedia, while Dave took a scrappier path as an affiliate marketer turned serial entrepreneur. Together they've built an environment that's both ambitious and balanced. I remember one time I was totally burned out and overwhelmed, and David personally reached out to see how he could support me. Zero judgment whatsoever. Just a genuine desire to help me succeed. I mean, who does that?? (Definitely not my past Corporate America bosses, that's for sure). Basically, I feel incredibly lucky to be part of this team. Apex isn't just a place to work - it feels like home.

Cons

Honestly, no real cons come to mind. I guess the only thing is that Apex might not be the best fit if you're looking to just coast. The leadership team here sets a high bar (in a good way!) and they'll push you to grow. But if you're up for the challenge, the sky's the limit.

Pros

I honestly feel very blessed and supported by working with marketing professionals at this level. The depth of combined experience and expertise from the founders and also the president is quite breathtaking, and there is a strong sense of work/life balance as well. I get the impression that they know what matters, and they don't cut corners. They are also very trusting and genuine. As an independent contractor, it would be really hard to go back to working with agencies that just haven't been "in the room" with high-level executives.

Cons

No real cons. I often feel challenged to uplevel my skill set and to stretch my abilities, so this may not be the best fit for someone who isn't seeking personal/professional growth.
