A small company with big ideas - Marketing Coordinator Apogee Electronics Employee Review

I started at Apogee as an intern in the accounting department while completing high school and my first two year of college. I moved from department to department wherever extra help was needed, eventually gaining enough skills to run accounts payable. I left Apogee to complete my bachelor of science, then taking a position for a company in the pharmaceutical industry. I gained experience and also encountered many roadblocks while working for a biotech startup including dull tasks, low pay and lack of growth opportunities. When I saw a position open in Apogee’s in operations department I applied and was rehired. I was excited to accept the new challenge. The work is fast paced, demanding but also inspiring and interesting. After several years Apogee supported and invested in my decisions to obtain my MBA while working full-time. This gave me the opportunity to immediately implement what I learned while in grad school. Despite many late nights between work and school, I was able to quickly grow into a management position. That is not something easily done at other companies where you need to break through a glass ceiling. We are a small company with plenty of opportunities to gain insight into other departments and pivot career wise, should you be willing to put a bit of extra time and effort to learn new skills. If you want to work hard, advance, have your ideas heard and acted upon - Apogee is an amazing place to work. It’s an entrepreneurial atmosphere, not for everyone but those who chose it can go far. Lastly working in the entertainment industry I’m always able to enjoy and be part of fun events, recording sessions, concerts and more.. that wasn’t part of the biotech world.

The team is small and we have to wear many hats. It's a place for proactive people.

Small company , very demanding . So there is a tendency to need to wear many hats which isn't everyone's cup of tea.
