Pros

Appboy is the best company I have ever worked for. The culture and the people I work with are amazing and it's very hard to put into words how much I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of something so special. As Steve Jobs said "we don't hire people to tell them what to do, we hire them so they tell us what to do". The trust management has in me as an employee and others really gives me the confidence to perform well and the motivation to work hard. Anytime I need assistance, it is there for me. Our CEO, CTO, CIO, CRO, and middle management I consider friends, and see Appboy as a real family. I have also seen that all other employees feel the same and that is something I have never seen before. As the former CEO of Costco said "culture is not an important thing, it's the only thing"..and we sure do have the best culture, which is allowing us to have well performing employees and keep up with the amazing growth. The product is hands down the best on the market, it needs no introduction.

Cons

There is absolutely no cons at Appboy. If you think there is, you are spoiled, and don't know how good you have it, period. If you think that cant be true, come to our office and talk to the people...you cant fake passion, enthusiasm, and the smiles on faces.

Pros

- Great place to intern and learn many skills especially if you have a foot in the tech-world door but don't feel like you are fully immersed in it. They expect you to learn things on the job and it has been the most valuable internship I've ever had. - Relaxed work atmosphere and everyone is sociable and hardworking. A lot of industry experts who have jumped ship to Appboy and it shows with how well the company is doing. - Get your work done sort of atmosphere which is great if you don't want to be too bothered with the face-time issues at some other employers. - Work is engaging IF you make sure to be communicative about your role, and what projects you can take on. - They allowed a lot of flexibility with people's career trajectories, and as long as you worked hard, there were a lot of individuals switching lanes and departments very smoothly. - HIGH HIGH Growth. If you work hard, put out great (not good) work and can present your wins well, they reward employees well in that regard.

Cons

- There is definitely an Appboy V1 and an Appboy V2, with this wave of hires becoming a V3. But, I wonder how much of this is the company and how much of this is embedded in start-up culture. A lot of brilliant gems in V2 who should be really leading the company but alas, the early bird gets the worm (in this case, the equity and authority.) - Since they are doing very well, the headcount goes up, and they are more like a budding enterprise rather than a start-up. Appboy is not going anywhere in the foreseeable future, and they are scaling the company accordingly which may more rules and regulations surrounding the flexibility and fast-paced career development that I have just mentioned.

Pros

Great culture where there's opportunity and resources to learn new skills to become successful at what I do and grow into other roles. These opportunities/resources are largely thanks to the generous and capable people that work at Appboy. Leadership is also actively encouraging this growth with both financial incentives and organizational initiatives. The in-company benefits, such as lunch, snacks, insurance make life easy and secure and the company events are a-plenty and fun. The work is both challenging and engaging, making me want to devote time and effort to the company and my coworkers. I believe that we have the best in-class product and I take pride in demonstrating how it not only meets clients' needs, but opens more doors for them. Lastly, I believe leadership is making efforts to address employee concerns, providing multiple channels of communication and implementing plans when possible to address the feedback they've received. The transparency and direction of the overall company is significantly better than my last employer.

Cons

While benefits more than meet my expectations, compensation is cause for concern. With that said, I believe and hope our company is making moves to improve on that front. In regards to management, the company is young and has had some expected growing pains as departments and teams grow bigger. Transitioning from less than 100 employees to around 150 has created new responsibilities and challenges that require adjustment in how managers operate. I believe, however, that Appboy is more than capable of overcoming these challenges.
