Pros

Lunch at headquarters, freshly cooked by a great cook everyday. Colleagues

Cons

Where to start... Management is mainly from Saudi Arabia, Saudi Aramco 2-year assigments, and there culture clash and lack of long-term interest in AOC and its employees begins. Management doesn't have the right education or professional background for the departments they run, have very little intellectual capabilities and compensate for that by submitting employees to threat and random unjustified dismissal and punishment. It is very difficicult to build sustainable internal and external relationships, as Saudi management only cares about itself and their own people and hierarchy, leaving an unengaged and unsatisfied workforce and community. Actually, they're doing the worse PR for themselves they could possibly do, leaving a trail of destruction in the company and amongst the workforce.

Cons

- Broken promises and lies about permanent contracts - bullying and harassment - managers act like dictators and abuse their power with no controls. If your boss likes you, you are fine. If your boss doesn't like you, you won't be able to claim your extra hours you made for the company as compensation time -breaking local laws- no confidential advisor, no staff council - keep saying for the last 10 years that they are "working on it" as their holding statement to staff. If there is a problem with your boss- you go to HR who does nothing, and if you escalate it, you go to the MD and he is friends with your boss (all managers are Saudis and supporting each other), and nothing happens. They are all protecting each other and the corrupt system. - discriminatory comments in meetings about gays and other "'undesirable groups of people" nobody questions this as being against their own code of conduct. People are also in fear of their own position if they step forward and make an objection to these offensive comments, because the current CEO is also making these comments. - HR systems are extremely skewed in favor of the company, screwing the employees whenever possible (making it difficult for people to claim back their own personal money that they used for business trips, because they don't give you a corporate credit card screw the employees on the exchange rates for making business travel)! HR systems make it difficult and put the burden on the employee in order claim their fair terms and conditions, and own money back. Even on the so called "anonymous" people survey that HR uses to poll the company, employees have been told by certain mangers that they they felt that their answers were too negative and next time they need to give more positive answers because they are making the manger and department look bad! So to summarize, there is a Reign of Terror in the organization for anyone who is different from than the Saudi management and dares to be themselves. The company uses the HR systems to eventually "weed out" those individuals, who are different and free thinkers who express themselves. This leaves behind a company of mediocracy and people who act like sheep who are willing to be led by these morally corrupt individuals. If you have a choice to work somewhere else, I suggest you do!
