Pros
If you like being overworked and underpaid, I guess. Honestly there are none. Maybe the residents themselves.
Cons
DON doesn’t supervise her nursing team like she should and is very detached from the nursing team. Management is awful. Understaffed and very demanding work/high expectations that are sometimes outright ridiculous; ex- 7 showers a day while trying to take care of all of your assigned section and not fall behind on lights. Toxic work environment with very unhappy employees and morale issues- you’ll be bombarded with not only stress, but also negativity every day. Threatens to take away items used for ADL’s and encourages nursing staff to cut corners to save supplies (ex: less thorough cleanings to save money on wipes and go through less wipes). Third party laundering company is a disaster to deal with and they do a poor job. Pay is terrible imo, but this has been a cna issue for a little while- take the time and find somewhere that pays appropriately for the amount of work it takes to be a cna; I recommend 20+ an hour, at least, because this is a very physically demanding job that will not be easy on you and very well might impact your own future health if you do the job long enough.
