The scientific talent and leadership within the Discovery, Cell Biology, Translational, Cell Processing, Protein, MSAT, QC, and QA departments are among the best in the CAR-T space, demonstrating exceptional expertise and innovation. The benefits are excellent; however, the unlimited PTO can be difficult to take advantage of, as C-level executives have made it clear that they expect employees to juggle work load of five or more roles (direct quote), making time off challenging to manage. And I can't forget to mention the Annual Hot Dog Day Competition! *Airhorn Noises*
Cons
The company's leadership, particularly in key areas like CMC and Supply Chain, continue to demonstrate significant shortcomings in both competence, leadership ability, and direction, which has resulted in continuous unnecessary internal challenges. Additionally, there appears to be a strong bias toward West Coast employees, with a growing 'Cult of Personality' surrounding top executives. This culture, coupled with widespread nepotism and favoritism at the highest levels, has hindered the career growth and advancement opportunities for many deserving existing employees. Be careful if joining at a lower level outside of the scientific departments.
