Pros

Compensation for consultants is currently above market, and work/life balance is relatively good due to a reduced project pipeline. With fewer active engagements and many senior consultants having exited, workload and internal competition are low. For consultants who value short-term stability, flexibility, or time to regroup, this can be a reasonable place to be.

Cons

From a consultant’s perspective, the organization feels structurally misaligned. Delivery teams are execution-driven and client-focused, yet decision-making and visibility appear concentrated in a large, non-billable leadership layer that adds limited value to day-to-day consulting outcomes. The gap between those delivering for clients and those managing the organization continues to widen. Leadership structure creates unnecessary friction. Having multiple CEOs and a frequently changing C-suite makes accountability unclear and direction inconsistent. While leadership brings significant experience, much of the strategy feels rooted in legacy thinking rather than first-principles approaches aligned with current market realities. This results in more emphasis on structure and optics than on growth, execution, and client impact. HR and Talent Acquisition are a recurring bottleneck. Communication is inconsistent, overly bureaucratic, and often disconnected from consulting realities. Consultants are frequently pulled into reporting or administrative conversations that do not clearly tie back to value creation. Information flow lacks discipline, which affects trust, professionalism, and morale. Business momentum appears uneven. Project volume feels constrained, with more exits than new growth, and retention is often handled reactively through counteroffers. This creates internal pay imbalances and reinforces the perception that short-term fixes are prioritized over sustainable planning and execution. Overall, the firm would benefit from a leaner structure, clearer accountability, and stronger operational support for the consultants who actually deliver results.
