Pros

Decent pay, 401K and they do offer insurance but the insurance.

Cons

No life to work balance. The field mechanics are pushed to the edge constantly. The management changes expectations and adds more responsibilities weekly if not daily. There is very little structure to the scheduling of work hours for the field mechanics it's more of a free for all, work until you drop environment. There are rules in place where you only work 16 hours in one day but two or three of those days in a row especially in the summer is dangerous. Most equipment is 24 HR call out.

Pros

Coming from large production gas industry it was nice to see such a family bond and not just another number. The fact that archrock invests in you on day 1 sending you to get training not just here's your truck and youll be with this person. The hiring team was a great bridge from office to field and even after getting into the field I see its the same fun environment. Now don't get me wrong its still a job and its all about respect. For example hey im still your boss and youll have my respect as long as I have yours. My mentor is great and makes me do the thinking asks the questions like how would you do this before we move onto the next task to get me thinking deeper into the task to understand.

Cons

Nothing as of yet. Still alot to learn and adjust to but that comes with any career change.
