Pros

Mission-Driven Work: Working in health software, the impact of the work is tangible and meaningful. This is a huge motivator, and it's easy to feel connected to the company's goal of improving patient outcomes. Talented teammates: The engineering team is filled with bright, passionate, and dedicated people. There's a strong culture of technical curiosity, and I learn something new almost every day. Good Benefits: For a growing tech company, the benefits are good. Unlimited PTO and they just announced 4 extra holidays this year.

Cons

Scaling Challenges: As a growing startup, processes can feel chaotic and sometimes non-existent. Project clarity and documentation need serious improvement, which often leads to time lost in discovery or rework. Tech Debt Accumulation: We are moving fast, which is exciting, but it means tech debt is piling up. The pace sometimes prioritizes new features over necessary refactoring and platform stability, which can be frustrating from an engineering standpoint.

Pros

Great health benefits. Also, the individual contributors at Arine are some of the smartest people I know.

Cons

There's no shortage of work, and yet the structure of the company makes it unnecessarily difficult for employees to complete the work. There's a general understanding at Arine that communication is poor - but no one with the power to make change is stepping up to make change. I've seen people in management spend more time blaming individuals than trying to improve the company culture. Information is siloed. The majority of Slack channels are private. Decisions are made and not relayed to the appropriate teams. The whole product could be in unplanned downtime and you wouldn't know until several days later. I've worked 10-12 hour days for the past few months, including a few hours on the weekends - and I'm still behind. There is no work life balance at Arine.
