The upper management has a culture of secrecy and elitism. You will never know about anything until the moment they expect you to implement it. They treat the onsite team like they are incompetent and need to be micromanaged when in reality nearly everyone on the team is way too overqualified to be there.
The pay is incredibly low for a for-profit art-tourism space, especially when you look at the rate their competitors pay for the same position. There has been no system put in place for raises and only recently has the idea of employee reviews even been brought up.
The customers are entitled, rude, and in some cases abusive. Have you ever read those stories of people assaulting service workers? Yeah, that stuff is normal here. And while management tries their best to deescalate things- the culture of "the customer is always right" that the company stands by often creates dangerous situations for their employees- management included.
Miscommunication, miscommunication, miscommunication... and gaslighting.
