Pros
The company genuinely seems to care about doing positive things. There is scope to take your job role where you want depending on the team/group. Managers genuinely want to help you with your career.
Cons
I was bottlenecked for 1 - 2 years because the work available was limited and I was lied to about new opportunities from other teams. The pay is terrible (no one actually settles in London because no one can afford it on Arup salaries). They constantly pander to ‘we are expensive for our industry’ while competitors still manage to pay more. While the intent to do interesting and good work is there the reality is that the majority of projects are boring run-of-the-mill buildings or consultancy which has little to no impact on the world or society.
