Pros
I heard about Arweave via Berlin start up jobs. I’ve previously worked at a start up for 5 years and was particularly interested in joining a small team in an agile environment, as this is where I’m most comfortable. I initially didn’t have much experience in the blockchain-crypto community and after reading further about Arweave, I was super curious to hear more about the project.
After my initial application, the team got back within a few days to arrange an interview. Upon arriving at my interview, the atmosphere was very welcoming; the questions were clear and based around my pervious roles, plus I was given a good insight into the companies mission and work culture. The interview lasted around 40 minutes and I was told that a decision would be made that afternoon around whether I’d be invited back for a second interview. I was indeed invited back the next day, of which I did some more research and put together a document of potential ideas I had toward the role in which I was applying for. The team were open to hear my ideas and the second interview also felt very welcoming and relaxed.
The office space is very comfortable and quite social (being a co-working space) and for me, it was everything I expected from a growing company in the start up environment. One thing that stood out to me about the whole interview process was how fast decisions were made - within a week I had applied for the community manager role, invited for two interviews, and offered a position on the team.
I enjoy working at Arweave for lots of reasons, but my main likes are team members themselves, the work culture, and the ability to always be learning something new. The whole team are super knowledgeable and initially being a beginner in Blockchain - I felt like I got off to a great start because the team were there to answer any questions I had and they’d also prepared informative on boarding documents to explain about the company history and necessary information for my role. The main thing I enjoy about working here is that I’m always learning something new - the pace is fast-moving and agile. This means there’s always room for creative problem solving and fast-implementation of ideas.
Cons
I haven't come across any so far.
