Lonely in a Crowd of Managers - Administration Assistant As Nature Intended Employee Review

Admin in the back office - overcrowded cramped conditions - no personal space - haphazard working patterns. Working to five managers with no manuals or points of reference to back up any training. Merging four jobs into one - reception/telephone, online database and order administrator, EPOS data admin and running weekly and monthly reports. Job is doable but not after 13 days and that was how long I was given to find my feet - well not even 13 - 7 days and 11 days I was considered not capable. Constant contradictions such as you are training so you will make mistakes but when mistakes were made it went against you. There are better ways to earn a living than being berated by four managers for not being up to speed after 11 days. Contract provided is for shop work in that advertised as 28 days leave - however, for you in the back office this will be 20 flexible days because the other 8 are bank holidays which you have to take - a shop assistant can choose. Discount card given with the warning that if you use it too much disciplinary action will be taken against you. Have to sign documentation that gives them permission to randomly search your bags. If you can do this job running - you could earn more and have better working conditions elsewhere. You are one in a crowd - conversations will be reported to the MD regardless of their subject matter and you will clearly be dissected during the first few weeks by five managers. There is an air of disrespect as you do not have a voice and when I was disciplined after 13 days, the meeting started 15 minutes late, without any apology. I personally want to forget I ever heard of this company. If you decide to go forward for this role - go with your eyes open and don't admit to any weaknesses.
