Horrible Management - Anonymous employee Ascend Public Charter Schools Employee Review

Ascend is changing - it used to be a place where they didn’t really talk about the students and had low results but has been changing, and last year got shocking growth. The new people coming in are very impressive and it’s changing. Energy and opportunity if you have the ambition and experience.

There’s now high standards which is not for everyone. Can be tough if you are just starting out or in lower level jobs, Its moving fast which can be scary for some people who have been around and are used to a different standard.

Some of the employees are okay to work with.

Everything about this "school"sucks. I put school in quotes, because Ascend isn't a school, its a local prision for the kids and the staff. The CEO, needs to get fired asap, this place is not job they overwork the staff to the core. Many staff members develop acute anxiety and burn out. The kids esp in the upper grades are extremley rude and there is not real teaching only testing. Please do not accept a job here, this has to be one of the worst network charter school in existence.. You're better off working at Macys or Macdonalds. Run from this toxic place.
