Pros

No pros, all cons of working here.

Cons

Work-Life Balance: Regrettably, the work-life balance at this organization is notably lacking, creating an illusion of unattainable harmony. Employees are expected to labor incessantly, resembling mechanical entities rather than human beings, devoting an excessive 15+ hours daily, including weekends. Strikingly, basic necessities like restroom breaks, lunch intervals, and refreshment pauses are alarmingly disregarded. Culture: The organization's culture stands apart in an unfavorable manner compared to others. Its primary focus centers around candidate submissions, adhering rigorously to a "W-2 with no benefits" mantra, a practice that is prominently upheld. The authenticity of communication is questionable, as representatives from India deceive consultants regarding their actual location. Furthermore, the absence of subsidized food compels employees to bear the full cost of sustenance, and pre-employment medical tests are an unexpected financial burden. Benefits: The organization offers limited benefits to its employees, lacking crucial support in career development, which remains conspicuously absent from their portfolio. There appears to be a deliberate endeavor to bind individuals to a "call center" role, incorporating a bond that employees find challenging to fulfill, camouflaging it under the guise of training costs. Compensation: Compensation is intricately linked to the art of ingratiating oneself to one's reporting manager and team leader. A rather disconcerting practice of underpaying consultants is common, supplemented by falsehoods regarding increased budgets supposedly secured from end-clients. This duplicitous tactic is employed to deter candidates from exploring opportunities elsewhere, where more equitable compensation is offered for similar roles. Career Development: Unfortunately, career development prospects within the organization are exceedingly limited. Employees face a disheartening reality, trapped in an environment that neglects the importance of upskilling and fails to equip its workforce for future challenges. Coworkers: The atmosphere among coworkers is rife with toxicity, marked by instances of public abuse within the workplace. Regrettably, the HR department exhibits a biased approach, seemingly overlooking these issues and displaying preferential treatment towards senior employees. Senior Leadership: The senior leadership of the organization, rather regrettably, turns a blind eye to the aforementioned toxic behavior, presumably driven by a desire to maintain a high influx of candidate submissions, overlooking the well-being of their workforce. Workplace: Despite boasting a "Best Place to Work" certification from SIAA, the organization appears to prioritize this accolade over addressing pressing issues related to the working conditions and the well-being of its employees, which compromises their overall health and welfare. In summary, this organization presents a range of concerning issues across various aspects, from work-life balance and compensation to culture and career development. Prospective employees should be aware of these aspects while considering opportunities within the organization.

Pros

No pros at all except WFH

Cons

1) Was sold a full-time opportunity only to find out 6 weeks in that it was an 8-week proof-of-concept contract. They only hired me because of my previous experience with the client. I never would have accepted an 8-week contract and turned down other job opportunities during this time. I was used. 2) They held onto my HSA funds for over a month and could never explain why and only rectified it after numerous emails. 3) They overcharged me on my medical premiums (I never would have signed up for benefits for an 8-week engagement but thinking it was full-time like my paperwork stated, I did) and it took countless emails over 2 months and opening a complaint with the Department of Labor to get my $400+ back. 4) One month after the engagement, I was notified by unemployment that Ascendion said I was fired (which was a lie, the project ended). I had an adjudication interview with unemployment and shared emails with evidence of such. Ascendion never responded which resulted in delaying my unemployment funds for 30 days.
