Pros

Most co-workers PTO and flexibility to take time off

Cons

They keep introducing new systems that are not intuitive or user friendly. We don’t get training for the new systems. Managers do not help or follow through. The motto at Ascensus should be if it ain’t broke let’s break it and make it way harder on employees. They pit departments against each other. Working with the year end service team is a nightmare because they love avoiding work. We are told to take the direction of the client but year end services do not do this. We have to go round and round with them to get things done. They don’t care about client satisfaction because they don’t have to deal with clients. Client services have to take accountability if we are lied to or if the other departments refuse to work with us. We have systems that can’t be overridden which is ineffective. Our document team is not much better than year end services. They will send things back until you answer the same question 3 times. It’s so frustrating to feel like your teammates in other departments want you to fail.

Pros

Excellent manager and team with streamlined processes. Benefits are greater than what I have seen in a majority of other businesses. The IT team generally moves very quick to resolve issues. HR/Hiring team was very quick and informative.

Cons

Only have two monitors when three would offer more efficiency. Although many tasks have SOPs and guides, some guides might not be updated (IE I found a guide that had the incorrect naming convention for a file). Any study materials needed to obtain relevant professional credentials are not covered by Ascensus. Obtaining relevant professional credentials also does not provide you with any bonus. You must wait a minimum of 12 months in your current position before wanting to change/pursue other job opportunities at Ascensus. The career ladder, at least in the Compliance team, seems rather narrow and limited.
