Pros

You’ll get plenty of exposure to legacy systems and outdated processes — great if you're into digital archaeology. If you like being constantly busy, there’s never a dull moment. Some colleagues are great — camaraderie with fellow developers is often the only thing keeping morale alive. Work-from-home or hybrid options might be available

Cons

Not a suitable workplace for developers who value thoughtful leadership, clarity, or being treated like a human being. Management lacks direction and frequently changes priorities without warning. There is little to no transparency regarding goals, vision, or long-term planning. Developers are treated like machines — expected to over deliver nonstop without proper support or context. Clear disconnect between leadership and the teams actually doing the work. Feedback is routinely ignored; decisions are made in silos without involving those affected. The culture discourages collaboration and growth, leading instead to burnout and confusion and buggy codes and ton of tickets. Without major changes in leadership and company values, this is not a company tech professionals should consider for long-term career growth or a healthy work environment.

Pros

Excellent manager and team with streamlined processes. Benefits are greater than what I have seen in a majority of other businesses. The IT team generally moves very quick to resolve issues. HR/Hiring team was very quick and informative.

Cons

Only have two monitors when three would offer more efficiency. Although many tasks have SOPs and guides, some guides might not be updated (IE I found a guide that had the incorrect naming convention for a file). Any study materials needed to obtain relevant professional credentials are not covered by Ascensus. Obtaining relevant professional credentials also does not provide you with any bonus. You must wait a minimum of 12 months in your current position before wanting to change/pursue other job opportunities at Ascensus. The career ladder, at least in the Compliance team, seems rather narrow and limited.
