Pros
People where nice, very little office drama
Cons
There where some absolutely horrible senior techs that I had to interact with has an engineer. This specific one wouldn’t come into work sometimes, was late most of the time, left most of the work load to the more Junior Tecs. With more experience then anyone else, he had no input on how to improve work flow or product out put but continually complained about his inept junior techs. When I walked around he was always on his phone or in his office on his phone. Most repairs where left to lower level techs which lead to more down time of the machine because of long or incorrect repairs. The junior techs where competent and motivated which makes these lazy senior tech more complacent. The senior techs where not training them or even guiding them In there daily tasks. Talking to some of the junior tech showed me that they where mostly self taught. After working here for a few years, I realized that these senior techs where rehired from when the company down sized in the past. It seemed obvious that they where here to do minimal work and ride out their cushy position until the next downsizing. This was common amongst multiple manufacturing departments and I believe resulted in the eventual downsizing of the complain do to manufacturing inadequacies. TCO and CIGS had the largest issues in regards to this but it was without a doubt, company wide. It is sad that some good people and good employees lost their jobs because of these horrible senior techs.
