Pros
The management & other employees are very caring and understanding. Very willing to help and fill in any gaps in knowledge that I might have. After working for myself for over years, Asia Vacation Group have made my transition back into the workforce seamless. They have embraced my ideas of how to make the company more profitable and more exposed to new customer bases. Office location is very public transport friendly, which makes for enjoyable start to the day. I can't recommend them enough as a very viable place of employment for the long term.
Cons
The only gripe I have is the coffee shop downstairs. The barista is very friendly but he burns the coffee, which makes for a very bitter start to the day :(
Pros
The team members (Melbourne team especially - or whats left of them) is great to work with. We are like a family and look out for each other. Vietnam reservations team members are nice too. Very lovely people. They can help you if you ask. The lack of supervision works both ways (good and bad), but relieves the pressure on you. Occasional free lunches from the MD when he is in Melbourne.
Cons
*Claims to be an Australian company with the Melbourne office as the HQ but obviously is not and is predominantly run from Vietnam, Hanoi* Remuneration: Paid under national minimum, unpaid super, unpaid overtime, late (up to but not limited to 1 week) and inaccurate payslips and no reimbursements for office supplies (even with approval to purchase). Did not receive super choice form (at all) had to forcibly submit my own and no tax forms received to be filled until 2.5-3 months from start of employment. Management: Upper management is mostly located in Hanoi, Vietnam. They run on a very traditional culture. Quite rude and power hungry. There has been evidence found with workplace bullying, management talking behind employees backs. They lack qualifications and are not professional. They get can emotional and angry and start to belittle you when you relay feedback from customers and get upset when solutions are offered. Management of the Melbourne office is extremely slack and do not have much understanding on the business. Always wasting Melbourne employees time, asking them for guidance on how to send emails or to download files. They are all talk and no action. Nice people, but employees needs guidance. They offer very minimal training, overwork their employees, and do not believe in a work-life balance. New employees are thrown into the work due to being understaffed in Melbourne without any training. Upper management does not follow Australian laws, expects (borderline forces you) you to work from home without overtime pay, no contract will be provided until 2 months from start of employment (unless you come from a recruitment agency, then they will offer you a very simple contract). They say there is only 2 months probation and if you're lucky enough to be offered a contract, the contract will put you on another 6 months probation. I have resubmitted the contract for amendments and negotiation and have yet to hear back from management regarding them for at least 1 month (ongoing). Management gives excuses about changing lawyers to write up a new one. On top of this, personality wise- management is quite sexist, racist and are on a high with 'power'. This is obvious based on the people they hire.
