Pros

Very modern and aesthetic office. Some fantastic staff that drive the business forward . Some of the most talented sales people in the industry work here. Middle management are fantastic at developing their team and take a genuine interest in their success. Coffee machine is pretty good, sadly broken more times than not (poor girls from reception made to fix it rather than the company that supply's it)

Cons

Firstly the salary structure is dire, I know of no high performing business where top performers can bring in literally millions of £ and still be lucky to get a 40k basic. This leads into the commission structure, which again is highly lackluster. The promise of progression and opportunity is false, at Aspire nepotism reigns supreme, do not be surprised to see your hard work, success and talent ignored because somebody owes someone else a favour. KPI's and overachieving on target means nothing, if you arnt willing to schmooze and lick up to senior management with the sort of patter that would have you socialy outcast for being a cretinous drip then you won't get ahead. Upper management at Aspire recognise brown nosery ahead of hard work and over achievement every day of the week. The CEO will quite happily stroll through the building wearing £2000 worth of clothing + a watch costing however much, telling you about rubbing shoulders with the likes of Conor Mcgregor on a private yacht in monaco whilst many of the staff are severely struggling with the cost of living crisis, I don't know about you, but I find this to be severely crass and unthinking, especially as many of the staff are struggling on around 20 odd thousand per year and often have to do without basic necessities. There are sadly many staff at Aspire who have not received adequate training on their roles and this often leads to confusion about whom should deal with what. Upper management aren't particularly bothered in the individuals who have worked there for several years success, unless it lines their own pockets. I was personally made assurances of progression, and despite over achievement of target on a monthly basis and being at the top of the entire sales forces workrate, was passed up a number of times for said promised progression, citing knowledge gaps that others whom had been given the chance also had (see nepotism issues above) They will make you redundant at the drop of a hat with no forewarning, with no plan to move you to a suitable role within the business, unless you are a shmoozer who is bad at their job. Vending machine constantly malfunctioning, CEO apparently owns the company that supplies said vending machine so go figure. Beware before entrusting your career to Aspire, they WILL sell you the dream and they will go back on their word.

Thank you for taking the time to review Aspire Technology Solutions. As you know, one of our six core values is ‘Sincere’. We always aim to do the right thing for our customers and our colleagues and communicate in an honest way so we will be transparent in our response. We are extremely proud of our HQ on the Gateshead Quayside which we have invested a lot in to ensure our teams have a comfortable work environment. At Aspire, it is very important to us that all colleague's behaviours align with our values. I am unclear as to your reference to the gender of our Front of House team members and what relevance this has to your review of Aspire, this does not align with the inclusive culture we strive for at Aspire so naturally this may suggest a parting of ways was necessary. Thank you also for recognising the great work and dedication of our line managers at Aspire, we have a great management team that is dedicated to developing the great talent we have within the business. I am unhappy to hear you are disappointed with the salaries Aspire pays and our commission structures. Aspire has a Colleague Reward Committee whose purpose is to ensure a fair, rigorous and transparent approach to the setting of pay and benefits for all our people so we will bear in mind your comments when this Committee next meet. To provide some clarity on your comments around progression, in 2022, 45% of colleagues were promoted or secured a new role through internal recruitment. All of these processes are based on merit and in line with the requirements for that position. To ensure equality, inclusion and diversity all recruitment, promotions and training are run fairly in line with legislation. I am sorry you did not get a chance to grow your career during your time with Aspire, we can’t define your career for you, but we support and ensure you’re aware of what might be available, talk about careers and your development to help you get to where you want to be. I have the utmost respect for our leaders who have guided Aspire on the journey to get us to where we are today. How they dress, where they go on holiday and who they associate with are not relevant to their role as long as this is not a conflict of interest to Aspire or brings the company into disrepute. Cost of living is a topic which is regularly discussed at the Colleague Reward Committee where we ensure we pay competitive salaries. At present, our vending machine supplier is North East Vending. Aspire’s CEO does not own North East Vending. Thank you once again for your feedback. We appreciate all of your hard work in your time with us and wish you the very best for the future.

Pros

Central location and an hour for lunch means plenty of choice when you're not in the office. Nice building on the riverside, the pros are purely geographical.

Cons

Corporate, corporate, corporate. The company from the inside is the epitome of postmodern, private equity directed, HR centralised, corporatist soul sucking bleakness. Quite frankly, I believe the sickening jargon laden, waffling replies the company (likely the HR team) leaves on the reviews here are testament enough to this without having to have experienced it first hand. Management is a mix of those willing to bend the knee, and those put there to tick boxes. Few of either column are fit or qualified to lead, but that doesn't matter provided they parrot the company line and nod along with whatever new cost cutting idea or plan to inundate the lowest paid employees with the brunt of the workload is floated at the next of the unending daily teams meetings. If you're a fan of walking on eggshells, sucking up to the hierarchy, and doing more for less, this is the place to work.
