Pros

Everyone I met at Assent was a truly genuine person that went out of their way to help as I ramped up and became more of an expert in the space. The combination of technology, account services and SME's make the Assent offering very compelling.

Cons

As the market creator/leader nearly every manufacturer has had some exposure to Assent at some point. These manufacturers tend to go through multi-year buy cycles so if you miss, it's very likely you'll be shut out until something changes (new leadership, new crazy regulation pops up, etc)

Pros

Really nice coworkers. Everyone is happy to help each other.

Cons

You can be a top performer and be really slow to see growth. A lot of the reasons behind why you don’t move up during your reviews are really arbitrary, even if you’re high performing. More and more, there’s been a huge push to reduce churn which has resulted in standard employees needing to submit meticulous tasks, to the point it takes up a good portion of your week. Internal systems are a complete mess which doesn’t make it easier. Pay is really low compared to the rest of the market. A lot of people leaving here make at least twice what they made at Assent which paints a picture perfectly. You maybe get a 3% raise give or take at most each year if you’re lucky, which is really difficult with costs of living going up. Recently, there were a number of people laid off (NOT including myself). It is known these folks had a horrible severance package despite many being with the company for years. Soon after these layoffs, these positions were posted overseas which eludes to exactly why these people were laid off. Lastly, most consulting and SaaS companies have an account team for working with clients. The consulting role was merged with the CSM role with no extra pay, pretty much telling people that specialize in a specific field that their job isn’t much more than both roles combined. This has resulted in burnout and people doing quite literally two jobs, often ones they didn’t apply for to begin with. Clearly they were trying to avoid layoffs and needed to cut corners with this action. Associate people are still supporting senior level folks that didn’t have experience in the role. It’s a nightmare. This used to be a great place to work, but it’s rapidly gone downhill. It’s so sad as people, top people, are leaving in droves. I used to love this place, but it has completely changed.
