Pros

Better than being unemployed (maybe)

Cons

During the interview process, they’ll tell you that you get 20 days of PTO. Not bad, right? Well, what they don’t tell you is that those 20 days are NOT on top of federal holidays, so you HAVE TO burn PTO on holidays, even if you don’t work in a 24/7 watch center and your office is actually closed on holidays. For a “veteran-owned” company to make its employees, most of whom are veterans, take PTO on holidays like Memorial Day is offensive and just plain wrong. As stated in the Pros, working with AP is probably better than being unemployed but don’t expect much out of them.

We base our PTO on each individual contract and the minimum labor hours we are required to fulfill. This particular contract is based on 1920 hours which allows for 200 hours of PTO. In order to remain flexible to all of our employees, all PTO is in one bucket to use (Holiday, Personal, and Sick). We also allow our employees the flexibility of working on Government holidays, if their customer allows it so, we do not want to force PTO on holidays. It sounds like our flexible culture was not a fit for you and I wish you well with your future endeavors within our community. Our executive team members are available to all of our employees if you have any feedback or concerns.

Pros

I completed an internship program with Assertive Professionals and upon completion, was grateful to be hired on. The team at AP have been extremely valuable for success and achievement in my career. I enjoy working with the entire team from the top down and felt like I was welcomed in, even as an intern. The team at AP actually cares about their employees and takes action to show it. Every month, I receive a monthly initiative with a gift in it from the company. The team also does multiple raffles to help encourage team building and interaction. It really goes to show that they care about the wellbeing of their employees - which is what I value in a company. The team is also very understanding. While things are required, as long as you are communicative to them about your situation, they are able to step in and help. They can even provide resources to help with situations that may be happening. Anything and everything is well thought out at Assertive Professionals!

Cons

I do not have anything negative to say about Assertive Professionals.
