Pros

Two weeks paid holiday during Christmas. Free coffee and a game/dining room with ping-pong table.

Cons

If you are a young professional looking to aquire new skills and advance your career, LOOK ELSEWHERE. Awful leadership, lack of transparency, ethics and a complete lack of professionalism. Incompetent HR department. Horrible silo mentality among senior management and department heads along with inept and extremely insecure managers leading to closedmindedness against input and feedback from others. Too many power hoarders holding back the associations efforts. The only people in the whole company who actually had backbones were the ones that left and there were lots of people who were leaving. The managers are completely disconnected from the rest of the workplace. Total lack of career advancement opportunities. Most likely it will diminish your career opportunities. There is also a twisted culture of brown nosing and nepotism. Lots of gossip and drama. It was really hard to get anything done or to be creative in any way with the levels of micromanaging and endless meetings occuring.

Pros

If you are looking to gain experience and knowledge, AMT is a great place to start. You will immediately fall in love with the people who work there as they are all genuinely nice and welcoming. However, if you are looking for a clear direction for your career and growth opportunities, you will find it challenging to get this from most managers or upper management. Promotions are few and far between as well, you will need to constantly keep on top of your direct report for any action to happen. Nevertheless, there are some positive benefits that outweigh some of the negative aspects. Their culture is built on passion, pride, family, and fun; the work atmosphere is great; they have lots of fun staff bonding activities, and the industry and members of AMT are phenomenal to learn from and work with! You’ll love working here, just don’t overstay your welcome.

Cons

Upper management is very top-heavy when it comes to their staff organizational structure. This tends to lead to poor management when it comes to any direction for career growth or development. The key is to be proactive and keep in constant communication with your direct report regarding your personal goals/wants/needs/etc.
