Pros

It seems that the company has a lot to offer agents and that there is a great potential for earning. I wish I could say more but the highlights of the company were not really explained to me in depth.

Cons

There are a lot of instances where good information is not fully disclosed. I feel that knowing up front you will have to pay for leads is important. Also, the salary and earnings that are talked about during the interview process are achieved by only a few of the top earners in the company and not by everyone. The process of working for free while you wait for your license is highly suspicious. Making phone calls and setting appointments only for the agent who is "training" you to cancel at the last minute or show up 45 minutes late is not professional. Coming in on Saturdays to make phone calls is not training, it's free labor. Learning scripts, using a fake name, not telling people on the phone where you are calling from or your phone number and not giving customers your card all sound really fishy to me.

We appreciate your feedback about your experience with Asurea and want you to know we take every review seriously. We work hard to ensure that candidates for our career agent sales position have positive experiences while learning whether an insurance sales career is right for them. We regret your experience was not more favorable. For others who may be considering a career with Asurea we would like to share with you our interview and hiring process. All potential candidates go through a 3 step interview process totaling several hours of interviews, conversations and assessment testing. All candidates also spend time job shadowing and generate pre-appointment production prior to being hired. Like other companies who offer career agent sales positions, we provide the opportunity for candidates to experience for themselves whether an insurance sales career is for them and all pre-appointment production is credited to their commission schedule. Although our pre-appointment production requirements are not as high or rigorous as some companies, we believe it is invaluable for our candidates to experience the work it takes in being responsible for the financial security of our clients. All candidates receive a Getting Started Guide explaining the finer details of the position which our managers review with them. Because we want to make sure there is complete clarity into the duties, expectations, and compensation of the career agent position, we have each candidate sign an acknowledgment they understand the role and its responsibilities. Our hiring and on boarding does take an investment of time. We do this in order to ensure when a hiring decision is made, it’s the right decision for the candidate and for ASUREA; putting the new agent in a position to have the best chance for success. Thank you and please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or items you'd like to discuss at creid@asurea.com

Pros

Asurea is a well-established organization which sells life insurance, mortgage and retirement products and I have been a life insurance agent for one year. The management team is highly knowledgeable of the rules, regulations, policies and prices and they provide excellent training and support that is ongoing. The management team also has an open-door policy and are always willing to answer questions whenever they are posed. Ongoing training is provided so life insurance agents are always made aware of new products and services. The pay is excellent and agents are always motivated to strive harder so they can reach their highest potential. Working for this company has given me the ability to increase my knowledge base and skill sets because I am given the opportunity to learn about new products and sales strategies. I am honored to be a life insurance sales agent with Asurea and I am extremely thankful for their great motivation techniques which drives me to reach exceptional goals!

Cons

The only con in terms of working with Asurea is that agents are prevented from providing certain levels of coverage to some individuals and this can lead to complaints. For example, one individual complained that he had to pay a higher premium because he was a smoker. This is common in the insurance industry and Asurea, just like other insurance companies, must consider the underlying risks when underwriting policies. When I asked Asurea’s management team about best practices for handling the situation, they provided me with strategies to deescalate the situation by telling the customer what we could offer as opposed to what we could not.
