Pros
The company is continuing to grow rapidly based on company speak. Company is very open about corporate performance. They own 3-4 other subs so business is diversified and not just limited to one industry or customer. Lots of experienced coworkers so you can make your own career path if motivated and not full of drama. Work is aviation and space related so the cool factor is at work daily, whether its jet engine test systems or rocket components. Lots to do as an engineer, technician, assembler etc. Atec has an onsite machine shop and electro-mechanical assembly operation so plenty of exposure to your design work after you've drawn it up. Structural Fab, Weld, Packaging, Field Services at other company locations... several offices around the world and projects are worldwide so opportunities for travel exist for sure. Quick progression to project engineering work for those who can prove themselves. industry standard software for engineering analysis and design. Over 60 years in business, job security is above average based on my experience. Managers are generally open to suggestions and senior mgmt seems motivated to change company for the future. Great place to work, especially for hands-on engineers, really for anyone thats hands-on in my opinion. Work environment is dynamic, fast-paced, day passes fast.
Cons
Must be able to wear multiple hats. Requires patience dealing with a company mgmt team that is coping with the extreme growth of business and personnel over past 6-7 years. Training available but must seek out real training from those who know. Must be self motivated. Not for you if you can't get from A to B or dont like getting hands dirty.....
