Pros

The work is pretty cool, and can be rewarding at times coworkers are great, good benefits, the money is fair for the work thats required.

Cons

Upper management at the corporate level creates a pretty toxic culture that flows all the way down the ladder. After a major buyout by a private equity firm a couple years ago the environment took a huge decline. Staff was cut, prices raised, reinvestment in the most basic equipment became a task that was almost impossible. When I started in 2021 each shift had 4 employees, and sometimes even 5. By 2024 we were working that same workload with 2 most of the time, and if anybody went on vacation it meant somebody else lost their weekend. The GM doesnt deviate from working a little bit under 40 hours a week usually from 0900 to 330 or 4 pm, and never once pitched in to cover a shift the entire time I was there, while some of us worked 16 and even 24 hour shifts to provide coverage with the skeleton crew we always worked with. The constant surveillance via camera feed made for a pretty uncomfortable environment as every move throughout the shift was later studied and scrutinized for any mis step of the standard operating procedure creating a fear based culture where youre under constant surveillance. Each year there is a Christmas bonus given with the last paycheck before the holidays, however, if there is an accident where damage is a factor, not only does the employee who caused the damage get fired along with whoever should have been spotting them, but thats not sufficient so the company takes away the bonus for the entire staff to pay the insurance deductable for the repairs.

Pros

Health insurance benefits are solid and the company has an established corporate structure. Pay is consistent, but those are the only notable positives.

Cons

Local management is ineffective, unprofessional, and visibly disengaged. Direct leadership lacked initiative, accountability, and basic communication skills, often appearing indifferent unless corporate oversight was involved. Expectations were unclear and inconsistently enforced, creating a disorganized and frustrating work environment. There was a noticeable reliance on surveillance rather than leadership. After receiving a final warning, camera monitoring became excessive and felt targeted, as if management was more focused on finding reasons to terminate employees than actually supporting improvement. The overall culture is unsupportive and transactional. Employees are treated as expendable rather than valued, which contributes to low morale, lack of trust, and high turnover. Stronger leadership at the local level is clearly lacking.
