Very poor leadership and respect in the HFD location. Atlantic HFD is regarded as bottom of the food chain. - Shift Lead Atlantic Aviation Employee Review

Pros

Like anyone who likes aviation, there is a variety of aircraft and situations that change on a daily basis. However...

Cons

The personnel in charge make it so you cannot enjoy the above pros. It was a great place to work up until 2011, even with all it's problems. When the old GM left, everything began a slow death. There was a core group of people that all worked well together and had a great time. The biggest disappointment was watching an exemplary employee with loads of experience get passed over for the Operations Supervisor position in favor of a CSR with 2 years ramp experience. Poor decision. The other major flaw is that HFD is where equipment goes to die. Fuel trucks, gpu's, etc...the basics for an fbo...just a collection of junk. Really embarrassing to try and save face with a customer who asked for some fuel but "sorry, our trucks are inop.." Atlantic HFD needs a total makeover, starting with leadership. The morale is so bad there...I've visited a few times and left depressed. Too bad.

Pros

Health insurance benefits are solid and the company has an established corporate structure. Pay is consistent, but those are the only notable positives.

Cons

Local management is ineffective, unprofessional, and visibly disengaged. Direct leadership lacked initiative, accountability, and basic communication skills, often appearing indifferent unless corporate oversight was involved. Expectations were unclear and inconsistently enforced, creating a disorganized and frustrating work environment. There was a noticeable reliance on surveillance rather than leadership. After receiving a final warning, camera monitoring became excessive and felt targeted, as if management was more focused on finding reasons to terminate employees than actually supporting improvement. The overall culture is unsupportive and transactional. Employees are treated as expendable rather than valued, which contributes to low morale, lack of trust, and high turnover. Stronger leadership at the local level is clearly lacking.
