•Leadership Challenges & Atmosphere - Despite having a cool product, the leadership team is ill-equipped to handle key operational, strategic, and people management aspects. There is no work culture and the actions of Leadership contribute to a toxic environment, which is especially felt in such a small company. Micromanagement is normal and communication from leadership is often passive-aggressive. If employees do not align with leadership's approach, their methods are often viewed as incorrect, even when those methods haven’t led to success.
•Job Insecurity & Frequent Turnover - It is extremely common for people to be placed on performance improvement plans without clear or justifiable reasons. In many cases people are hitting their kpis/goals and fulfilling their responsibilities but are still put on the plan for vague or questionable reasons. It’s widely agreed amongst employees that these performance improvement plans are less about genuine improvement and more about creating a formal pathway for the company to terminate employment.
•Limited Support & Development - There is no personal development While occasional efforts like asking employees to ‘read books’ are made, there is no formal structure or incentive for supporting professional growth.
