Unethical company - RBT - Registered Behavior Technician Autism Spectrum Therapies Employee Review

Pros

Clients and their families who are in need of ABA services.

Cons

-AST has failed to meet BACB RBT Ethics. AST Failed to meet Code Element 3.04 which states "RBTs may not practice with new client populations without proper training and oversight." Special cases were given during employment that exceeded RBT responsibilities without any special case training. Supervisor was contacted in regard to the concern and responded with "To be able to grow within the field you need to be open to special caseloads." - Promised hours never given per offer letter. -No supervision for morning clients. -Get scolded when reaching out for training and/or support request. -Two week training included trainers who would not allow for questions or clarification. Trainers tell you that you are not listening if you ask questions that have been already answered despite it being clarification of understanding correctly. -Client cancellations (As expected in any company)

AST is known for our comprehensive new hire training that every employee (including leadership) attends. It is disappointing to hear that you are not feeling supported or well trained. We'd love to hear about the specifics of the additional training that you were requesting. It is important to us that all of our staff feel confident and supported when in the field. Thank you for sharing your feedback. Everything you describe here is not in line with our company's values or policies. I would very much like to address this. Pros

Flexibility. woman-led field. frequent pay raises. overtime opportunities.

Cons

Clinical director lives across the country so is not as easily accessible or truly aware of staff dynamics and issues. before AST was bought out by LEARN, they did 401K matching, that's no more. No more sick time off, it's all just lumped into your PTO. Issues with staff take too long to be resolved. Depending on the BCBA you get placed with, you'll either have lots of great support or none at all.
