Pros
- Made some close friendships with other frontline staff that made going to work at this god awful place everyday bearable. - Realising too little too late I was trapped in a broken system with senior and upper management that NEVER truly cared about my mental health & felt I had no other choice but to resign. Waking up to the fact that full time job security & KPI benefits is one thing but when the culture is so toxic & upper & senior management constantly harassed, discriminated & bullied me into complete psychological burnout, no job is worth my mental health. If I stayed, this place was slowly killing me. I’ll never be the same again after my horrendous experience that went on for months and months until it completely broke me. The company pretend to put on the farce they care about their staff when in reality it’s ALWAYS the business first. Staff are expected to tolerate customers yelling, screaming & swearing at them & excuses are made for their behaviour towards staff “they’re just frustrated & upset at the situation & not you personally”. This doesn’t give customers the excuse to speak to staff so disrespectfully on a daily basis. If staff tell the customer to stop yelling or swearing, the call gets escalated immediately & it’s the consultant who gets punished and interrogated. That’s not leadership! That’s exposing employees to psychosocial hazards where it’s the consultant who is being treated unfairly. There is no accountability from upper & senior management as they dig their heels in believing it’s okay to expose staff to this sort of abuse. Then they scratch their heads why they have such a high turnover and simply palm it off as “the jobs not for everyone”.
Cons
Extremely toxic workplace culture. Toilet breaks are monitored. There’s never enough Team leaders present on the floor to support staff as there is always another meeting they’re in which seems to last for half the day. Favouritism and nepotism is rife! Only a certain minority is favoured for early promotions or faster career development which isn’t equal when others more qualified for the role are disregarded. If you’re sick & provide an online medical certificate you get told these are not accepted & are required to only see a Dr in person. Online medical certificate are genuine & cannot be rejected by employers by law but A&G senior management attempt to get away with creating their own rules & this is why their reputation is known to be dodgy and corrupt.
