Pros
I currently work here (sales), although my last day is in 2 days (Friday). To potential EMPLOYEES: By far the best part of the day are the people that work here. I’ve never had a job where I literally didn’t dislike a single person, they are all great. No matter the department, no matter whose above or below you, it’s a close team and everyone truly cares about each other. Sure there’s hiccups, but not anything that won’t get resolved maturely or ruin your day. Last week there was a little situation (nothing related to the product/company) between people, but instantly it got handled and if anything, it brought the family even closer. That’s how the people roll here… we’re in it together and don’t bother with office drama. It's like a marriage... you can either fight/yell about little drama, or just be mature and realize we're in it together til the end. So whether you’re thinking about applying, or accepting the position… I can assure you everyone will happily welcome you. You won’t need to worry about people gossiping about you, feeling threatened, making your work difficult, etc. To potential CUSTOMERS: If you’re at Glassdoor reading this, looks like you’re a very thorough person so kudos to you! I’m also thorough like you and when I got hired I read reviews, used the product and learned the policy. I can assure you, nothing shady goes about the company or our product. Now we did have a shady guy here (every company has a few), but the behavior was unacceptable, and he no longer works here. So if you’re looking at maybe buying one of our trackers, do it! Other companies have 5 year contracts, a tracker that updates once a day, unreliable location, horrible app, geared towards kids, etc… with us, we’re not afraid and we’ll even let you try it for free :P Just grab the phone and call us back! As far as the COO goes (Utah), I’m always looking forward to his speeches. There’s a reason people like him are in his position, he’s got a good vision, is transparent and honest, and I even look forward to his analogies (he always somehow ties in real life scenarios to work, to help motivate us). As far as the CEO goes (Sweden), in all the companies I've worked for, I have *never* seen a CEO be so responsive. I’m talking, literally seconds or minutes to fix things sometimes (big or small). When he builds something internally, it works as intended too. This effort applies to our product as well. It's obvious he's passionate about the company and the people.
Cons
I’m sure you’re reading this first, and honestly, any cons I’ve already tackled above in my pros :P I know this review has been fairly positive, but obviously there’s hiccups, learning experiences, but not anything you won’t find at another startup. Luckily this startup is different because it has honest employees and a good product. And because of those 2 alone, any issues that arise fix themselves automatically. I’ve been a part of OTHER startups where people gossip and try to get others fired, management makes bad choices for customers to save money, people micro-manage or the opposite and not manage enough… we don’t have any of those extremes at Automile. Oh and there's a guy named Brennin who sucks at basketball. Let him know that if you ever talk to him on the phone!
