They treat you like garbage no matter who you are - Unity Developer Avataris Employee Review

Pros

The test assignment gave me an opportunity to learn something new and realise my worth. Also the HR lead is very nice. Probably to smooth out the impression made by the CEO.

Cons

Disgusting impressions after a call with the CEO. Throughout the interview you are asked questions, regardless of the answer to which you look inexperienced. He says that your 4 years of experience don’t mean anything because in Austria you are considered a middle only after 5. All this in order to offer a salary of $750, which is WAY less than what I can earn making hyper casual games in your own country. One of the CEO’s arguments for why you should work for them: “After us, you can get hired somewhere else, because currently no one wants you.”

Pros

The job was interesting and I had a lot of fun doing the writing. Plus it was remote so that's always a good thing.

Cons

I couldn't get any of the programs they wanted me to download work and they wanted me to download some software so they could keep tabs on me and see my computer screen.

Pros

It was remote, which was nice Work was relatively self-explanatory but was also a double-edged sword as there was no way for questions to be answered if you hit a road block

Cons

There was no feeling of ‘management’ as leads would check in twice a week with no real understanding of the details of your work. Communication was sparse. I understand if it was an issue with time zones, but there was no work done to aid employees when they had questions. Oftentimes you’d have to wait a day to hear back. Starting salary seemed okay for part-time but finding out it was pay for full time just isn’t worth it. Hourly rates are WELL below minimum wage. NDA bars employees and ex-employees from talking about a lot of things, but I have never felt more disrespected by an employer.
