Working near other tech start-ups

Company boasts about things like work from home Fridays, unlimited PTO, shadowing other employees to gain additional experience, etc., but the reality is that none of that will ever happen (nor did it happen amongst any of the other handful of employees). I had to use my own personal laptop throughout my entire employment, as the iPads that were provided were insufficient to do the work.
