Pros
- Hybrid working modes (although now being forced to come to the office daily to drive certain projects). - A young team which causes an easier communication overall. - Organizing company events/outings every quarter at least. - Compensation to take AWS Certification which can be very beneficial for your CV. - Recommended for fresh graduates to come and gain experience if you are unable to secure other jobs.
Cons
- Over ambitious in estimating project timelines. Saying yes to ridiculous customer demands and end up the developer has to push themselves till late night just to deliver and save you. Too fast paced and the need for immediate results on the short term equals to a super messy codebase and documentation, and the difficulty to maintain them on a long term as the main idea behind the technical planning is "as long as it works". - No work - life balance at all. Expect to work from 09:00 to 03:00 or longer in certain days or weeks without compensation just to meet customer demands. - High employee turnover rate. Every month, we can see at least 2 new faces introduced and 2 missing existing employees during the weekly standup. - Average overall compensation package. There are no annual bonus and no OT claims. Do negotiate for a higher salary if you're planning to accept their offer, at least you would not regret joining. - Lack of company direction. After staying here for 2 years, I was not able to see where the company is going. You are building constantly on the platform for the past 2 years and until now there are not much progress in terms of sales as I can't see actual customers using your products. All those late night efforts are just a waste of resources. Are the higher-ups doing their study beforehand? - Lack of training for the newbies. You are expected to ask around to learn what is happening and you will be surprised many of the existing employees don't even know that.
