Pros

Very good work/life balance and separation. You get half days on Fridays, and weekend work is never expected of you for religious reasons. Pay itself is reasonable, but is hourly for most employees. You also get a lot of time off for Jewish holidays, some of which are paid.

Cons

B&H is generally respectful of all backgrounds, but their own religious ties hold the company back, and create weird restrictions on the type of content they're willing to publish. Articles, photos, and videos that have to do with weddings or fashion need to be free of cleavage, legs, or even shoulders. They don't care if men are in the photos though, and this just makes it difficult to cover these very common topics in photography. There isn't a lot of room for advancement, and the various managers and executives all seem to be competing for equal attention, so nothing ever changes. While the pay is pretty good, most of the employees are technically on an hourly schedule. You can get paid for overtime at least. The holiday time off is very nice, but the trade off is that you are given all your sick and paid time off in one lump sum, every six months. This sounds like a good thing, but if you want to get paid during some of those holidays (that you HAVE TO take off), you have to use your own PTO.

Pros

Some nice co-workers across different departments They only hire because people keep leaving.. so if you need a job to fill a role they have, they will take you to fill a position.

Cons

-Extreme workload and high expectations for little pay. -PTO has to be used for a Jewish holiday if you want to get paid. They give you a mousepad showing if you will get paid on certain days. You work all year long and regular employees only get 1 day for Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years. -Micromanagement and consent surveillance. You are tracked on the computer and how long you stay in a program or if you are away from your desk for too long it will get flagged. -They hired a new company from the outside to monitor you as well to the point where you can't use your phone. They want to give you a flip phone. -Very toxic management and HR staff... very unfair and will give you zero give if you need to work from home.. they will tell you use your PTO. -Zero career growth whatsoever, everyone. -Favoritism gets you higher up in the company. -Very behind in tech & software on the corporate side but they want to have the latest for the vendors. -High revolving door, very churn & burn mentality. -End to WFH on Fridays... You will only be coming in for 4 hours... tough if you are traveling from far away... -Zero culture and no work-life balance
