Hard Job, Fairly Reasonable Pay - Customer Service Representative (CSR) BB&T Employee Review

Pros

BB&T paid a reasonable amount, which was more than pretty much all of the call centers in the area. There was also thorough training (1-2 months, if I remember correctly). The benefits offered were good overall, 401K with a match up to a few percent, and a pension if you stuck around for 5+ years.

Cons

You had to wait at least a year before you could apply to any other internal jobs (not terribly unusual, but not fun when you're entry-level). Career progression in the call center seemed to take a long while, and it was very hard work. Many clients were understandably upset due to problems/errors that affected their money, as well as the many fees charged. It was quite depressing. I quit in March 2020 because I had a leave of absence right as Covid was starting. When I was due to return, work still seemed to be in person and I didn't want to get sick.
