Kind, dedicated and empathetic coworkers. Decent benefits. Remote work. Ambitious org that tries to make change so many areas. Incredible volunteers and impactful work being done at all levels. You will get lots of experience.
Cons
Top heavy leadership that seems out of touch with realities of work for their own staff (even in their own departments). Junior members of staff expected to carry the weight where management is lacking or absent. Lack of opportunity for advancement in entry/mid levels is apparent as soon as you step through the door. Ambitious, but many ideas are put forward with no follow through. Org is not immune from the non profit silent culture of overwork and seems to prefer not to acknowledge it. Shelter staff very underpaid.
