Pros

Remote working enabled - a wide array of cloud solutions available to work remotely full time and collaborate with colleagues , acceptable salary.... not great, but acceptable.

Cons

The people running the show are the people who have been with the company for 20+ years, blinded by nostalgia and the old way of working, “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” and “if it costs money, don’t bother with it” One of the biggest problems with this company is that it values Travel industry experience over all other industries... BCD has major technology initiatives on the cards and the people who are making the decisions are those with Travel backgrounds and those who make the highest amount of money , rather than the subject matter experts in those particular technology areas. Sacrificing award winning comprehensive applications to support a piece of software that isn’t built to operate the way BCD are forcing it to. All in the name of cost saving and because a manager with no technology or project management experience said so... The communication is poorly managed and the voices that matter do not get heard, unless you are a senior manager or above, your voice pretty much doesn’t matter or it’s drowned out by some loud mouth manager who hasn’t got a clue.... there needs to be a clear out from the top down, stop chopping the heads of your lower level/ potentially younger staff members, they are the technically minded individuals that shape your products and future Stop investing so much in the ones that have been in the company too long... their ideas are mostly absent and dated and are wreaking chaos on modern process and technology enhancements ... not only travel experience matters Would not recommend if you have a passion for innovation, I would recommend to those who have lost ambition and just want a job to chug along with until you eventually pop your clogs

I love everything about BCD travel. It’s a laid back work environment with minimal micromanagement.

Pros

The company used to give raises every 6 months based on performance.

Cons

We have not been given raises in years and they always have an excuse as to why they have to push it off til later, even our 0-3% inflation “raises” are put off until further notice. We no longer have sick leave or PTO and they say we should be grateful for that because if we were to leave the company they wouldn’t pay out our PTO to us, but they will pay out our vacation. If you need any kind of time off good luck, you need to know when your children will get sick months in advance, otherwise you accrue attendance points which will get you closer to being fired. Work force management pesters management about what we’re doing and why every single minute of the day. If we are late for scheduled breaks or lunches by a couple minutes they need to know why. If you have to deal with a traveler longer than usual you need to send multiple messages to management explaining why. It’s horrific micromanaging and we are treated like children now. You can find better pay at any other business travel management company while also being treated like a human being and not a number.
