Pros
- First off, everything prior reviews covered were absolutely spot on. The culture at BDSA under the prior regime was a miserable experience, but things greatly improved when the CEO and a particular "SVP" were ousted seemingly overnight. - The fully remote lifestyle allows you to live a life outside of work to the best of your ability, days would go by where no one would check in on what I was doing, but I'm not sure if that is a pro or a con. - The work itself is pretty cool. Working with cannabis data and building interesting solutions was an interesting theory/proposition.
Cons
- The new executive leadership is very compassionate but its the middle management where things suffer still. The "Directors" of the company are, in many cases, individuals 4-5 year post-undergrad who, as a result of the massive turnover BDSA had experienced historically, were anointed leaders given they were some of the only people left who understood the product. - Given the inexperience, its common for middle management to jockey for position politically, often disparaging one another behind close doors to subordinates and putting them in an uncomfortable position. - Absolutely little to no effort put into the career development of employees. Not really given clear paths of advancement or salary/bonus expectations.
