Pros
Solid onboarding/training that has prepared me well for my next job, smart people, beautiful and unique office space, great NYC location, and ample work social events/free food.
Cons
You'll notice those pros are a common theme among the reviews here but fairly superficial, and as it turns out, things like a pretty office won't matter much when you're working 12+ hour days and finding yourself miserable 1 year in. BGB does a lot right on the surface, but ultimately lacks where it matters, which is why the turnover is insane here. This high turnover rate means it's a company stacked with high-level BGB diehards (who perpetuate a toxic culture) and new hires, without a solid mid-level staff in-between to carry the workload. It's also important to note that your experience will vary hugely depending on which office you're in (BGB main vs SCIONYC vs BIONYC etc.), and mileage varies. I was shocked when I left at how much happier people were overall at my new company, so my advice? Either come to BGB with the expectation of having your nose to the grindstone and getting out within 2 years for your mental health, or stay away. There's a reason this company has a bad reputation for work-life balance and employee unhappiness even among other agencies, which is saying a lot. Lastly, the fake reviews need to be acknowledged. There is something disturbing about a company that needs to falsify employee reviews to raise their rating on this site (to catfish new people into joining I assume). If you're reading this, look at the distribution of review ratings and the sheer quantity of 5-star reviews, most of which list NO CONS, which no real person would do. I also think it's worth looking at Glassdoor's graph of ratings over time, in which you can easily see this company had ~2.5 stars in 2019 before skyrocketing up, when 5-star reviews with no cons conveniently started flooding in. If that's not a bad sign about a place to work, I don't know what is.
