The worst of the worst - Senior CopyWriter BGB Group Employee Review

Pros

There are a few very nice co-workers there

Cons

Worst place I've ever worked. Chaotic working conditions; the agency underbids every project and the project managers will tell you every day that everyone needs to be "efficient" when they mean they want you to underbill. On the back end, the project managers scrutinize every line of your timesheet and have no shame in rejecting it and accusing you of having not worked that long on the project you billed (when in fact you worked even longer on it). If you're a writer, expect to be treated very badly. Enormous disconnect between finance, the PMs, and the creatives. Nasty, condescending editors, and lazy, inexperienced art directors who make many, many, many preventable mistakes and expect the copywriters to fix their work. If you're an editor, art director, or project manager, it's a sweet gig, as you don't have to do very much and you are accountable for nothing. But if you're a writer or account executive, you will be miserable, underpaid, and disrespected at the BGB Group on a daily basis

Pros

The teams are extremely smart and innovative, leadership is supportive of giving us the tools we need to be successful, and the client work is fun and rewarding!

Cons

The company is growing which is exciting but sometimes comes with growing pains and process refinement needs. However, this also give us space to shape the way we work.

Pros

Great team with talented, motivated people who are committed to delivering high-quality work. The culture is collaborative and energetic, and the company offers great benefits, including Summer Fridays, generous PTO, and flexible hybrid/WFH options. Overall, it's a great place to work. As a boomerang employee, I can confidently say that returning only reinforced that impression

Cons

Like most client services roles, it can be demanding at times, but that's expected for the industry
