Pros

• Weekly Pay • Decent enough benefits for full time

Cons

• The usual retail BS. I don't know what about going shopping people makes people act so poorly but it's very prevalent here. • Metrics are everything. How many membership upgrades and credit card applications are more important then anything else you can provide. We've had management actually accuse people of trying to sabotage store numbers during slow weeks. • Are more then willing to hire new, part-time employees at higher pay then what they are paying full-time employees who've stuck with the company. Hope you like only getting a 0.40-0.50 cent raise each year while a new hire who is treating this as a second job starts at $20 an hour. • Skeleton crew, especially in the afternoon/evening. If anyone in any department calls in, is fired, quits, or gets time off, be ready for the whole store to have to shift to compensate. • Give management an inch, they'll take a mile. If they think you have even an ounce of helpfulness or a need to be a team player, get ready for them to pile work on you, even scheduling you for jobs you didn't sign up for, including managerial work (sans the pay and benefits). • Little-to-no room for advancement. They would much rather hire in new team leads/managers then promote from within the store. This includes hiring people with zero retail or managerial experience. Or they'll just push the managerial work onto an employee and give them nothing in return. • No formal training/curriculum. You job-shadow a coworker for one 8 hour shift and that's it. And your first day will usually always be on a busy Sunday.
