Pros
Interesting work and amiable communications with marketing managers
Cons
I didn't apply for the contract job with them, they approached me on LinkedIn. Then I accepted and found myself siloed. Didn't feel like I was part of the "team" in BNG Team. My work was all approved and sold through to the client, as far as I can tell. Rarely had to go to 2nd much less a third iteration. But when my contract ended it was sort of a surprise because nobody bothered to tell me.
I didn't expect a gold watch but an email or phone call would have been a little more professional than ghosting me. Getting paid was a mysterious system and very unprofessional...PayPal? Seriously? It could be anywhere from 30 to 40 days and I would on many occasions have to email someone to remind them that I had not been paid for the previous month.
In March I contacted them because I had not received my 1099 for taxes. I was told, "We don't do 1099s for part-time contractors." What???
So if you enjoy being treated like a second-class citizen, by all means join the "team" but make sure you're either full time or full contract. But all's well that ends well. I have replaced them with an international firm and currently working on social media graphics and designs for well-known national brands: restaurant chains, healthcare systems and a global aerospace and defense company.
