      Pros

      Relaxed atmosphere Company is fairly secure with little shake ups in comparison to most Banks/Investment Banks Number of social events planned throughout the year

      Cons

      Low salary and next to no bonus & pay rise year-on-year Inept HR preventing sideways movement within the company Increasing love of creating layers of hierarchy reducing job prospects No incentives provided to improve performance given the recession spiel provided in the 3rd/4th Quarter

      Work life balance is good for the most part.

      Cons

      Everyone in upper management (including our CEO) has come from JP Morgan or Goldman Sachs while employees who have worked at BNY for 20+ years are not being chosen for promotion opportunities. Looking to juniorize the company yet give zero training and support for analysts starting out. The culture has completely changed over the last few years, looks like a different company.
