Pros

Flexible hours. Easy work for the pay. Opportunity to work overtime.

Cons

Left a position in another company after 12 years to work for BPA doing similar work because the location was closer to home and the hours were flexible. Hiring manager was aware of this. For six weeks my direct supervisor expressed how happy he was to have me on the team and told the entire team what a great job I was doing. On a day my supervisor was out another supervisor and the head manager called me in the office to say they had to let me go because I was not performing well. I was very confused and when I discussed what happen later to my colleagues they too were confused because the entire time our supervisor was telling them how well I was doing. During my exit interview 3 lies were told. 1) I wasn't meeting the call objective per hour. I kept a log of all the calls I monitored for each hour on a daily basis to make sure I was meeting the objective. I was actually exceedin it. 2) I was told I wasnt tracking the quality assurance properly. I asked if that was the case why was I allowed to work overtime which my particular office specifically would not let you do until they were sure you knew how to do the job correctly. 3) I was told that after having a supervisor from another office sit with me and coach me my work didn't improve. I expressed that no one ever sat with me and coached me as well as no one ever told me that I was not doing the work properly and if i wasnt why wouldnt have been brough to my attention before they decided to termine me. The manager and supervisor insisted the other supervisor coached me and I told them to ask her. They confirmed I was telling the truth, but still insisted I could not keep my job. I was really confused but asked for a letter stating why I was being let go. Initially they wanted to mail it to me and I said no I wanted it before I left. Apparently they didn't expect that because they attempted to fudge performance numbers in the letter they gave me. Let's just say 2 plus 2 will always equal 4, but their 2 plus two came out to six. I didn't read the letter until I got home and whe I left a message on the voice mail of the manager to ask her why the numbers didn't calculate correctly I never received a call back. I also left a message on the voice mail of my direct supervisor to tell him I didn't understand what happened because he kept saying how well I was doing. He too never returned my call. I later learned from other former employees they were also given questionable reasons for why they were being let go. And they too remembered how the supervisor praised my work and couldn't understand why I was let go for the reason given. I couldn't think of any other reason why I could be terminated. I was friendly with everyone. Always professional. It just really hurt that I was lied to and management thought that it was acceptable for whatever reason.
