Pros

Some of the non-leadership level employees are very nice.

Cons

At the end of the day, if a job or company sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Leadership makes a lot of promises but they are unrealistic. The company is growing without the resources, tools, and leadership to support the growth, placing onus on the employees. It can be an emotional rollercoaster. Leadership tells employees how much they appreciate them one week and then terminates half of those same employees the next week. Three employees were let go in one week. It may be worth noting that a recent news article about BS+Co. highlights their new office in downtown Knoxville and mentions a new slate of local employees. The employees that were let go just prior to that were all remote and made up about 65% of the remote team. A lot of value is placed on autonomy. It is sold to employees as a benefit of working for a "non-agency" agency. But there is a difference between autonomy to make strategic decisions for a client and being expected to deliver without the support and resources in place to do so. The right kind of person could be fine here, but if you are looking for stability and trust, proceed with caution and a bit of skepticism.

Pros

What you see is what you get. A heavy emphasis on autonomy but all the support I need to actually be autonomous. Still growing and I have the chance to try many different things.

Cons

Change is a part of this culture. If that is something you don't like, this won't be a good place for you.

Pros

I am not even sure where to start on the pros of this company. I left a great, stable job to come work at BS+Co. , and while I was nervous to make the jump, I can say with confidence it was the best decision I EVER made! Not only the best choice for me but my family as well. I could probably list a million amazing things about this company, team, clients and owners but I will limit myself because no one has time to read a bunch of sappy, positive and loving words about how lucky I am to work here. - Work/life balance: if this is important to you, you should know it is also super important to the owners of this company. They are both moms and know the importance of family time and having a life outside of work. If my kid has soccer practice before 5 pm or a doctor's appt in the middle of the day, I don't even hesitate or worry about "What will work say?!" or "How am I going to pull this off." If you get your work done, do what you say you're going to do, and keep your clients top of mind, then you'll never have to worry about. - Speaking of family: This whole group of amazing people I work with every day treat you like family. I specifically remember telling the owner how stressed I was about making a fox birthday cake for my daughter. Instead of just laughing and wishing me good luck, she stayed on the phone with me, googled fox cakes, found a recipe, told me what I would need from the store, then followed up to see how it turned out (while telling me how proud she was of the great job I did :))! These aren't people who are only work-oriented and only want to have a professional relationship with you. These are REAL people, people that want to celebrate your professional wins and your real-life wins! - Keeping it Real: While we are on the topic of real people...Another thing I love about working here is the open door policy. If you want to know something going on in the company, just ask. You want to see the breakdown of our financials ?...just ask. Honestly, sometimes you don't even have to ask, they will just show you. - Benefits: Let me be clear, one of the major reasons I jumped ship to come here was the amazing benefits...30 hour work week, unlimited PTO, competitive salary, etc...However, I also understood that I don't get to enjoy those benefits without working my butt off for my clients (which by the way is only 4...hello extra benefit!). Only having 4 clients also means I have the time and capacity to work my butt off for them and make sure I produce high-quality work. If you go over 30 hours here, you're doing it wrong my friend. Basically, they expect you to be a grown adult and get your tasks done...in return, you get great benefits (like the best ever!) I could seriously go on and on about this place, but I think you get the picture. Before I go though, just one more thing...I work remotely. Others here work remotely. It is another perk...Just be trustworthy and dependable, and it could be a perk for you too.

Cons

I don't think this would be an honest review if I didn't say there are some cons too. This is a young company and some may say being around for 3 years is a "start-up". With any young company, they have faced some growing pains. There are bumps along the way, like hiring the wrong people in the wrong spots, but we know we are all in this together and those leading the ship will straighten it out when need be. Where is the fun in always playing it safe anyways?
