Great if you are a graduate or apprentice but unfortunately they neglect those with experience and knowledge. - Anonymous BT Group Employee Review

Pros

Very good pension and share save schemes, huge variety of roles, free infinity broadband and they do tend to pay higher than the overall industry.

Cons

Whatever your bonus is agreed as divide by 2 then halve it. Performance management is used to constantly move the goal posts to make you work harder and they then don't reward you with the full bonus. Also. Too many employees are used to fill / cover temp management roles without the substantive position ever being offered. This was my issue so I took a very attractive leavers package and left after nearly 20 years service despite having the highest performance rating possible - unfortunately they don't recognise and nurture talent anymore. Finally the first rung on the management ladder is often lower paid than the staff they are managing which makes no sense at all.

Pros

Benefits are better than most US companies. You get twice or triple the numbers of days off per year.

Cons

Focus is more on originating company location for group events and emails. Due to time zone differences, it can be difficult to work with others without adjusting your schedule. It is difficult to get promoted outside originating country. Roles are few and far between in the US.
