Pros

- Extraordinarily fun culture - An inspirational CEO of BTS USA - Amazing place to hone and develop soft skills - Cross industry exposure - Intellectually challenging client work - Excellent client list - A variety of travel, including international - Opportunities for upward mobility, with clear career road maps that lead to promotion when followed properly - Plenty of growth opportunities for juniors - Willingness to put juniors in client facing roles - Flexible with working from home - Unlimited time off - About to have a dope new office in NYC

Cons

- Very sales oriented culture that, in my opinion, values an additional dollar of internal revenue more than an additional dollar of impact to a clients business - On average weak middle management that is poor at developing and coaching juniors - The company operates with a triple threat model, which means each consultant is expected to develop solutions, deliver training sessions, and sell more solutions or sessions. This model makes it difficult to do one thing well and can challenge quality of life. DISCLAIMER: the company might be moving towards a more specialized model soon

Cons

In the 2 times I have worked for BTS I have been misled on the environment/situation I would be working in. Which has led to serious issues. The first time, I was recruited I moved my family across the country for a position that had 16 turnovers over a 2 year period due to the toxic government leadership. I was not given any heads up and was put in a seriously challenging position for both my career and financial wellbeing. The second time I took a job with BTS, I was told the contract had just been awarded for 5 years. However, once I arrived, again having moved my family across the country, I found out the contract was on a 6 month extension. There are other issues on the administrative side, and all I will recommend is to document everything. You WILL need the proof sometime down the road. All in all, I would say at times BTS was good, but mostly they operate in the morally gray to keep that top line up. Was fired over voicemail, for not working overtime (just working a standard 40 hour work week at night!) while I was recovering from the flu. No notice, no conversation, just canned. If management had taken a moment to speak with me, I could have provided email proof I had approval to take a slight step back while I and my family all recovered from the flu.
