Pros

Babylist used to be a fantastic place to work. Great growth opportunities, great comp. Understanding managers, you used to be able to even have coffee/virtual lunch with the founder! I will say they are still growing and making the right business decisions with what they’re doing.

Cons

Treats employees 100% as replaceable, which I understand, but you should value them! There’s also a constant fear for your job because of so many people being randomly let go. When I was first hired, communication was clear and performance plans were used. Now you’ll log onto a 1:1 with your manager and randomly get fired for nothing.

Pros

Pay scale goes higher when you move up to a higher paying scale

Cons

Your tenure (Months/Years of service) starts all over, which means your actual pay could actually be dropped and it make take 2 years to get to that higher pay than the previous job. However, this means many just stick to their lower pay rates at a higher step level just to keep from their pay dropping, which management evidently want it this way to save on money. It would be like if you worked for the federal government and you were at a G5S7, but then you moved up to G6, but your level dropped all the way down to 1. Your pay rate for 2026 would go from $20.01/hr at the G5S7 pay rate to $18.59/hr at the G6S1 pay rate. This is what Babylist is doing.
